Professional Development

Throughout the year:

Galaxy offers a variety of opportunities for educators.  Some opportunities are available throughout the year, such as in-service programs by Galaxy staff and/or a variety of artists.  Also available is a program called “Artists Consulting with Teachers.”  This offers personal consultation with a requested artist regarding the use of an art form to support a theme, clarify a particular subject-area concept or provide guidance in a special project.

Annually:

Other programs are available on a yearly basis such as the annual “Artist Residency Professional Development and Planning Day,” which brings teachers and artists together to build successful multiple day residencies in schools. 

Special Opportunities:

Every couple of years, Galaxy sponsors a showcase to which teachers, administrators (and sometimes parents) are invited to see and experience artists making presentations that describe the visits, workshops, master classes and performances they are offering in the Galaxy Arts Catalog for that year.
