Applying as a Galaxy/PCA Artist:

In partnership with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) Galaxy conducts a selection process of regional artists, who can then be listed in the State’s Directory of Artists in Education to conduct multiple-day artist residencies in schools and community settings.  These artists, who must be of high caliber, submit to a rigorous selection process that includes an application, work sample and other materials that are presented to an independent selection panel of artists/educators for an initial review, followed by an interview and classroom observation, if applicable.

Because this is a regional process, applicants should live in or near the counties that surround Centre, Clearfield and Clinton Counties.

Successful candidates are approved to conduct grant-supported artist residencies in schools and other community locations through Galaxy as well as through other organizations in Pennsylvania.  NOTE:  Artists that are accepted in this category are usually offered the opportunity to conduct artist visits, workshops, etc. as described in the “Galaxy Artist, only” classification below.
